How the Calculation Works

This calculator uses Metabolic Equivalent of Task (MET) values to estimate calories burned during cycling. The calculation takes into account your weight, ride duration, and intensity level.

MET values used:

  • Light cycling: 4 METs
  • Moderate cycling: 6 METs
  • Vigorous cycling: 8 METs
  • Very vigorous cycling: 10 METs
  • Racing: 12 METs
